"Prygon" is the basis of the electric car segment in Ukraine. This word, familiar to motorists, refers to the import of used cars, even when in reality the car is not "driven", but transported by sea or delivered by truck. Here are the numbers that prove what was said: the share of "freshly driven" cars among all electric cars on the market in August was 58.3%, that is, more than half, and more than other sub-segments — sales of new and domestic resales of electric cars with mileage.
In August, the Ukrainian fleet was replenished with a record number of BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) passenger cars — 5,499!
The dynamics of this part of the car market looks like this: the increase relative to July of the current year is plus 44%, compared to August 2023 — plus a significant 75%!
Which electric cars were most often ordered and, accordingly, "driven" at the end of the summer? Letʼs start with an overview of the manufacturer rating, where Tesla is the undisputed leader. It seems that soon someone will appear who can compete with several "Models" of this American manufacturer. Unless it eventually applies the design language used on the Cybertruck to its new cars, then buyers are likely to return to the more traditional-looking cars. By the way, the first Cybertruck pickup has already arrived in Ukraine — even among our motorists there was one who chose this unusual car for himself.

Among the models that most often replenished the Ukrainian car fleet, the Nissan Leaf is currently in first place, which has occasionally exchanged first place with the Tesla Model 3, and now there is a possibility that the Model Y also has certain intentions for the first step.

Summarizing, it is worth noting that such a statistical "jump" in the segment in question is caused by several factors — that is, it is not just a consistent increase in demand for electric cars under normal conditions.
One of them is an information field about the probable introduction of a 15% tax on the first registration of cars, which would also affect electric cars (in the end, they decided not to introduce this tax). The next one is an increase in excise taxes on fuel, which should still happen, which also pushes some motorists to switch to more economical vehicles.
It is also not worth rejecting the gradual decrease in prices for used electric cars, which you can learn more about in a separate review from the IDA. It is likely that the August records will be broken soon, because the decisions on part of the purchases, which is at least a third of the total volume, were accelerated by the mentioned factors.
