In contrast to record import figures, the domestic market for used electric vehicles declined in November. Ukrainians concluded 2,766 domestic sales transactions.

Statistics show a significant cooling: compared to October, activity decreased by 19.3%. This is a rather sharp drop, which, however, is easily explained by the shift of buyersʼ attention to imports. However, if we look at the long term, the market feels great: compared to November last year, the number of transactions increased by 50.6%. That is, electric cars are becoming an increasingly common phenomenon on our roads.
Stamps
In the manufacturersʼ ranking, Nissan, the long-time leader of the Ukrainian secondary market, has lost first place. Tesla has become the new leader in domestic resales (663 transactions). Nissan has moved to second place (508 transactions). This indicates a qualitative transformation of the market: Ukrainians are starting to massively resell not only budget hatchbacks, but also more expensive and technological cars that were imported into the country earlier. Volkswagen is holding steady in third place (280 transactions), mainly thanks to the e-Golf and ID.4 models.
Models
Although Tesla won in the brand ranking, the Nissan Leaf remains unattainable in the ranking of individual models. With a result of 477 transactions, it confidently holds the title of the most popular used electric car in Ukraine. Its affordable price makes it an unrivaled "entrance ticket" to the world of electric transport. And in addition to the first generation, the second generation is also gaining popularity, with better design, functionality, and range, which also affects the statistics.
Next came the American duo: Tesla Model 3 (308 units) and Tesla Model Y (192 units).
It is interesting to observe the increase in the number of deals with Volkswagen ID.4 (88 units) and Chinese BYD (which entered the top 10 brands). This means that the “Chinese wave” of imports of past years is already starting to reach the secondary resale market.
Comment from car market expert Ostap Novytsky (IDA):
"The decline in the domestic market (-19.3%) against the backdrop of the import boom looks quite logical. This is the effect of "combined vessels". In November, a buyer who had money for an electric car was faced with a choice: buy a used car here or bring a "fresh" one from abroad. Given the approaching VAT refund, the majority chose the import option in order to have time to take advantage of the benefit while it is valid. The domestic market will not go anywhere in January, but the "window of opportunity" at the border is closing. Therefore, local resales have temporarily faded into the background. However, the 50% year-on-year growth confirms that the liquidity of electric cars in Ukraine is steadily growing, and Tesla, which overtook Nissan in the brand ranking, is the best proof of this."
