Used car market: October results in numbers

Despite the general economic storm and the restrained behavior of some buyers, October showed stabilization and even a slight growth. In total, 77,763 domestic resales of passenger cars were recorded on the secondary market. Another 25,616 cars entered from abroad and were registered in Ukraine for the first time.

In total, this gave the market +1.5% year-on-year, and +3.4% month-on-month. Compared to what happened on the market last fall, this is even a very calm picture.

Domestic resales

  • October 2025 to October 2024 : -8.7%
  • October to September 2025 : +1.9%

Everything here is within the limits of natural seasonality. People have become a little more careful in spending, but they do not refuse to buy a car. This is almost no different from the rhythm of previous years — we live in conditions of a stable "decline that does not fall."

Import of used cars

  • October 2025 to October 2024 : +53.9%
  • October to September 2025 : +8.4%

This is where the real overheating began. On the horizon is January 1, 2026, when electric cars will again be subject to VAT when cleared through customs. And the closer this day gets, the higher the activity of “racers” and buyers. People are literally buying up almost all electric cars abroad in order to catch the tax timer.

At the same time, we should not forget that such import rates are not only numbers, but also risks. In the pursuit of "profitable now", buyers often ignore checking the car before it reaches Ukraine. And from export sites in the EU or the USA, they perfectly export both broken, with twisted mileage, and drowned. Therefore, we emphasize: so that the rush does not turn into disappointment, check the car before buying by VIN code, it can be done easily and with a guarantee of obtaining information using CEBIA. Knowing the truth about the past of the chosen car, you definitely will not have to make excuses "I didnʼt know, they said it was not broken — not painted...".
