The Institute for Automotive Market Research has provided Tesla Inc. with a detailed analysis of the Tesla fleet and the electric vehicle market in Ukraine
Specialists of the Institute of Automotive Market Research prepared and provided Tesla Inc. with an expert document containing a detailed description of the brandʼs fleet in Ukraine, a breakdown by model and year of manufacture, import dynamics, and other indicators that can serve as a basis for assessing the needs for charging infrastructure and service. The report also provides an analysis of general trends in the electric vehicle market in Ukraine, which is currently undergoing active growth.
The electric vehicle fleet in Ukraine is now twice as large as in Poland — this factor and other indicators were taken into account when formulating the recommendations in the report. This indicates the considerable potential of our car market, which has prospects for investment and the development of official representative offices and service networks.
The presence or absence of local infrastructure and official representation has a direct impact on the experience of owners and potential buyers. So far, there is no official Tesla representation in Ukraine, while in neighboring countries, in particular Poland, the company already has offices and service stations.
The report also noted practical limitations for Ukrainian Tesla users, including navigation and localization issues. The stock maps for Ukraine have not been updated for a long time: the last available version dates back to 2019, which complicates route planning and reduces the usability of the built-in navigation.
The Instituteʼs experts suggested several practical steps that could significantly improve the Tesla ownership experience in Ukraine: opening an official representative office and service centers, deploying a Supercharger network at key transit points and international corridors, adding Ukrainian to the car menu, and regularly updating map data. Separately, the competitive environment was emphasized — Chinese brands are increasingly active in the market and are already consolidating their positions.
Today, more than 40,000 Tesla cars are registered in Ukraine, making the brand the market and electric vehicle fleet leader — ahead of Nissan and Volkswagen. This scale confirms the potential of our market for practical steps towards the presence of an official brand representation.
