In September 2024, 16,200 used cars imported from abroad were submitted for first registration. This indicator is 24.6% less than it was in September 2023, and significantly less than the one a month earlier — by 40.7%.
At the same time, one should not rush to conclusions about the "collapse of the market" — the reason lies in the fact that the sales peak: which occurred in August, was artificial, caused by an information wave about the probable introduction of a 15% tax on the first registration of a car. Accordingly, part of the buyers (about a third) in these circumstances accelerated the adoption (and implementation) of decisions regarding the purchase of cars, that is, they actually moved them from September-October to the end of summer. Which ultimately led to a conditional "slump" in September, which after 1-2 months will be replaced by an exit to average statistical values for the segment. The situation is similar in the domestic market.

What was submitted for the first registration more often? Here are the Top 10 manufacturers, the demand for whose "freshly driven" cars was the greatest last month:
Similar to the rating of the domestic market, the first place went to Volkswagen, also with a considerable coverage — 16.1%. In addition to this German brand , Audi and Renault also made it to the top three.
Among the individual models, the first place is held by the Volkswagen Golf, which is assisted by the electric version of the e-Golf, of which 180 units have arrived. Although without them, Skoda Octavia, which is in 2nd place, would still not be able to win the championship this time. In addition to these passenger cars, Renault Megane entered the top three most popular "freshly driven" this time.
In particular, in August , 10 Lucid, 8 Rivian, 6 Fisker, 3 Maserati, 3 Lamborghini, 2 BMW Alpina and one Ferrari were added to the Ukrainian car fleet.
The average age of passenger cars that entered the Ukrainian fleet at the beginning of autumn was 9.2 years, and by engine type, gasoline versions prevail — 45.4% of them. There is also considerable demand for diesel, which is confirmed by a share of 26.1%, and for electric cars, whose presence in the import segment is now 19.2% — that is, almost 1/5 of all newly arrived cars. The rest were divided between passenger cars with hybrid power plants, equipped with HBO, and "gas" LPI versions.
