What cars are the most popular in the domestic market? Top 10 brands and models of August
On the domestic market during August, service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs registered 90,600 agreements for the sale of used cars. This is 3.9% less than in August 2023, and also 14% less than in July 2024. After recent statistical "jumps" caused by the "rewriting" of motor vehicles in connection with the acquisition of new rules for the mobilization of cars from private owners, the volume of re-registrations has finally returned to the usual values.
What is bought more often? As in previous periods, Ukrainians do not betray their "peopleʼs" brand — Volkswagen, whose share is 12.3%, which is twice as much as that of the brands placed after it on the list. VAZs of various types still do not lose their relevance, due to their low prices (which are now at the level of the price of an average smartphone), and the number that is enough for the descendants of Fiat to still cover a significant share of the "secondary" market. Then there are manufacturers that are more familiar to the eyes of the European motorist, such as Renault, Skoda and BMW.
In the list of models, it would also be strange to see someone other than the Volkswagen Passat on the first place. Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Golf are also in high demand.
Among the cars of the premium segment, which were sold in units, but for which they are worth noting, 3 Aston Martins, 3 Rolls-Royces, 17 Bentleys and 19 Maseratis were bought in August.
In August, the car of the most respectable age became the green Wyllys MB1 of 1942 (because no other color was used for them then).
Along with a certain decrease in volumes on the "secondary", there is a slight decrease in the average prices of offers posted for sale on the Internet. At the same time, it should be noted that the same decrease in the volume of sales within the country in August was compensated by an increase in the import of used cars, which ultimately kept the total number of purchased cars at an average statistical level.
