Experts from the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed the statistics of semi-trailer registrations in Ukraine in June 2025 and identified the most popular types and brands in three key segments: used imports, domestic resales, and new registrations.
Semi-trailer market dynamics
In June, Ukrainian carriers purchased a total of 1,144 new and used semi-trailers. This is 4.1% less than in May this year and 44.3% less than in June 2024.
The largest share was accounted for by domestic resales — 62.1% (710 units), followed by imports of used ones, 29% (332 units). New imported semi-trailers accounted for 6.8% (78 units), and another 2.1% (24 units) were equipment manufactured in Ukraine.
By individual subsegments, the dynamics of semi-trailer trades looks like this:
- Domestic resales: −7.4% MM, −46.0% YY
- Used imports: 0.3% MM, −40.8% YY
- New imports: −3.7% MM, −40.5% YY
- Made in Ukraine: +71.4% MM, −50.0% YY
As we can see, the market continues its downward trend in most segments, with the only exception being domestic production, which showed some growth.
The most popular semi-trailers on the domestic market
The most popular category here was dump trucks, and there was also demand for on-board, tented versions and simply tented ones.
Among manufacturers, the leader in the domestic market was the German Shmitz Cargobull — 130 pieces of this brandʼs products were purchased.
The second and third places were also taken by German brands — Krone (87 units) and Kögel (67 units), respectively.
The most popular used semi-trailers imported from abroad
Among the "freshly imported" semi-trailers, the most popular were the tented versions, and dump trucks and refrigerated vans were also actively imported.

The first in the list of the most popular used semi-trailers imported from abroad was the Shmitz Cargobull brand with a total of 145 first registrations.
Krone products came in second place (27 units). Kögel came in third place (16 units).
Most popular new semi-trailers
In this group, dump trucks became the most popular type. Platforms were the second most popular, and refrigerated vans were in third place.
The ranking of new semi-trailer manufacturers was led by Shmitz Cargobull (26 units). Wielton came in second place (11 units), and Krone came in third with 9 units.
