Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of car registrations and identified the Top-20 most popular used models that were bought (and reissued) in Ukraine in July.
On the domestic market during July, service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs registered 105,300 agreements for the sale of used cars. This is 27.2% more than in July 2023, and 6.3% more than in June 2024. After the recent statistical "records" caused by the "rewriting" of motor vehicles in connection with the acquisition of new rules for the mobilization (removal for the needs of the Armed Forces) of cars from private owners, it can be seen how the volume of re-registrations is returning to more familiar indicators.

The most popular brands in the domestic market
The leader among manufacturers of passenger cars, regarding which in July on the domestic market Most often, sales agreements were concluded with Volkswagen: 13,200 of these passenger cars were officially re-registered, which is 12.6% of the total volume of all agreements.
In second place this time is Renault with a share of 6.2%and 6.5 thousand transactions. In third place is Skoda (5.7%, 6 thousand ). Fourth place with a share of 5.3%and 5.6 thousand restyled cars went to VAZ. Rounding out the top five is Ford with a share of 5.1% and 5.3 thousand deals.

The most popular models in the domestic market
The first place in terms of the number of re-registrations in July, regardless of any circumstances, continues to be held by the long-time leader of the Ukrainian secondary car market, Volkswagen Passat (3.8 thousand transactions). In second place is Skoda Octavia (3.5 thousand deals).
The third place was occupied by Volkswagen Golf (3 thousand deals), Daewoo Lanos still holds the fourth place (2.4 thousand deals). Rounding out the top five is the Renault Megane (2,000 deals).

Despite the certain influence of external factors, the picture regarding brands and models has not undergone significant changes, since their recruitment to the car market is usually correlated with the active part (that is, those vehicles that are in regular operation) of the car park, accordingly, they sell what they drive, and, by analogy, they drive what they trade.
