New electric cars from China — 85%, there are still fewer on the secondary market. What did you buy in November?

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of registrations of cars with electric power plants and identified the Top-20 models in three segments: import of used cars, domestic resale and purchase of new electric cars.

Dynamics of the electric car market

In November, Ukrainians bought 6,200 new and used electric cars. This is 189.4% more than last November 2022, and only 0.2% more (however, again more) than October 2023. And this is again a monthly statistical record of sales of electric cars in Ukraine.

Among the total number of electric cars in November , 99.4% were cars, 0.6% (40 units) were trucks.

Dynamics of the electric car market in Ukraine, November 2022 — November 2023

Imported used electric cars were mainly traded ( 59%, 3,671 units). Such a number once again turned out to be a record in the history of the "electric" segment of the Ukrainian car market, although in general the current indicators are not too different from the numbers for the previous month. The import of passenger cars is facilitated by the "zero" customs clearance rate: the registration of a car in Ukraine is significantly cheaper, because, unlike cars with an internal combustion engine, you do not need to pay VAT (20% of the value) and customs duty (10% of the value), and excise tax — minimum (1 euro per 1 kWh of battery capacity). Trucks are imported less, because due to a legal conflict, during their importation, they have to pay VAT in the amount of 20% of their value.

In the domestic market, 27.5% of the total number of purchase and sale agreements for cars with an electric motor (1,711 units) were concluded.

13.5% of electric cars (842 units) were bought new.

As of the end of November 2023, according to the calculations of the Institute of Car Market Research, the total fleet of automobiles with electric engines is 81,429 units registered in Ukraine (excluding those deregistered due to scrapping and export abroad): 79,257 passenger cars, 2,168 trucks and 5 buses.

The fourth place is occupied by another product of the American automobile industry, Tesla Model S, with the number of resales of 89 units. Rounding out the top five is the Volkswagen ID.4, with a score of 81, a purchased car with mileage.
