Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of car registrations and identified the top 20 most popular used models that were bought in Ukraine in November.
The most popular brands in the domestic market
The leader of passenger car brands that were bought on the domestic market, according to the results of November remains Volkswagen. Ukrainians concluded 8,600 purchase and sale agreements for cars of this brand, which is 12.4% of the total number. The second place is traditionally occupied by the products of the Russian-Soviet VAZ with a stable share of 6.7%, 4.4 thousand deals.
The third place in the rating was taken by Renault (5.6%, 3.9 thousand units). Skoda rose one position and took fourth place with a share of 5.5% ( 3.6 thousand ), and Toyota took fifth place with a share of 5.3% ( 3.7 thousand deals).
The most popular models in the domestic market
The first place among domestic sales in November is occupied by the unchanging leader of the Ukrainian car market Volkswagen Passat (2.5 thousand deals). Daewoo Lanos and its modifications — a legacy of the times of active automobile manufacturing in Ukraine — remain in second place (2.4 thousand deals). Third place was taken by Skoda Octavia (2.1 thousand transactions), and fourth place was taken by Volkswagen Golf (1.9 thousand transactions). Rounding out the top five is Renault Megane (1.2 thousand deals).
In general, the first 6 positions completely repeat the October rating, but VAZ 2109 rose from ninth to seventh place (together with its modification 21099, 1 thousand transactions), and BMW 5 Series (936 transactions) fell two positions down, to nine the place Toyota Camry (855 transactions) dropped significantly — from 8th to 14th place, and Skoda Fabia (905 transactions) rose from 10th to 8th place. Renault Scenic was dropped from the rating, instead Mitsubishi Lancer appeared (609 units).
In general, the trend of the domestic car market is unchanged: the majority of the twenty most popular models remain European car models. From typically American cars, only the Volkswagen Jetta, Hyundai Sonata (part of which also comes from South Korea), and also part of the Volkswagen Passat, which is manufactured for the US market, can be singled out.
