The motorcycle market in January 2026 demonstrated resistance to seasonal factors, confirming the change in the paradigm of the use of two-wheeled transport in Ukraine. In the first month of the year , 1,859 purchase and sale transactions were recorded on the domestic market, which is 120% more than in January last year. In the used equipment import segment, 135 units were registered, which is 42.6% less than in December. Sales of new motorcycles amounted to 1,210 units — this is 5% higher than in January 2025, although 16% less than in December.

Internal Market: Structural Changes and the Dominance of Pragmatism
The secondary market in the country is clearly divided into two streams. On the one hand, the high liquidity of Japanese classics from Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki remains. These brands form the core of high-quality used equipment, which steadily changes owners regardless of the season.
On the other hand, we are observing the active formation of a “secondary” market of Chinese brands. Lifan, Mustang and Spark brands are increasingly being resold within the country, which indicates that the market is saturated with budget solutions. Also in the top are the brands Kovi and Geon, which specialize in enduro equipment — such vehicles are chosen for difficult road conditions. The presence of BMW in the top ten reflects activity in the premium segment, where buyers are preparing for the tourist season in advance.
Importing used motorcycles: Focusing on niche demand
January is traditionally the least active month for used bike imports. Currently, the country is mostly receiving single copies that are of high value to connoisseurs or purchased at auctions in advance.
In addition to traditional Japanese brands, this segment also features American brands Harley-Davidson and Indian, as well as European brands BMW, Triumph, Ducati and KTM. For most importers, this period is a time of logistical preparation for spring demand, when registrations will start to increase.
New Motorcycles: Affordability as a Key Driver
The new vehicle segment is dominated by products from Chinese manufacturers, which serve as the main means of transportation in the regions. The sales leaders are Spark, Lifan, and Forte. This is the simplest and most affordable vehicle that replaces public transport or old Soviet analogues.
Brands Kovi, Mustang, Geon and Loncin offer mid-range vehicles that are often used for both work and leisure. Indian brand Bajaj maintains its position thanks to its reputation for reliability, which is critical for utilitarian use. Tekken and Viper also made it into the top ten.
