In October 2025, the average age of passenger cars in the domestic market of Ukraine reached 16.4 years. This is slightly more than in September (16.0 years) and indicates an increase in sales in the most budget and age segments.
The regional breakdown, as before, demonstrates a huge unevenness in the car fleet. The youngest cars are traditionally concentrated in the city of Kyiv (11.2 years), where higher purchasing power stimulates the sale of new and almost new cars. Here the difference with the national indicator is more than five years.

The capital is followed by the border regions — Lviv (14.5 years) and Zakarpattia (14.6 years) regions. The factor of proximity to the border and the logistics flows through which most used cars arrive from Europe (the average age of which is about 8.4 years) makes the offer on the secondary market here much fresher.
A moderately "fresh" fleet was recorded in Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions (15.5 years each), which corresponds to the national average last month.
The oldest vehicle fleets, as before, are recorded in regions where the economy and security remain the biggest challenges. The anti-record holders are Donetsk (19.4 years) and Kherson (19.0 years) regions.
These figures, which are approaching two decades, directly reflect the low level of restoration and renewal of the vehicle fleet in the territories affected by hostilities. Also included in the category of the oldest are Sumy (17.2 years) and Cherkasy (17.0 years) regions.

The total average age of passenger cars resold on the domestic market of Ukraine in October was 16.4 years. The jump in the aging indicator by 0.4 years compared to September indicates that sales of the oldest and most budget segment of the secondary market significantly increased last month.
An interesting indicator is the statistics of sales through the state service Diya. Cars sold completely in digital format were even older than the overall average — 16.8 years. This confirms that the simplification of bureaucracy affected not only new, but also the oldest cars, and owners are actively using digital tools to legalize and re-register age-old vehicles.
Significant regional differences — a relatively younger market in Kyiv and the western regions versus a much older one in the south and east — directly reflect regional purchasing power and logistical flows. For comparison, the average age of cars in EU countries is about 12 years, highlighting the structural difference of the Ukrainian market and its significant dependence on the budget segment.
