In August 2025, the average age of passenger cars on the domestic market was 16.1 years. This indicator varies significantly depending on the region: from 11 years in the capital to over 19 years in the south and east of the country.
The regional breakdown shows significant unevenness in the car fleet. The youngest cars are concentrated in the city of Kyiv (11.2 years), as well as in the Transcarpathian and Lviv regions (14.7 years each). In the capital, this is explained by higher purchasing power and the development of the new car segment, while in the west there is a powerful factor of proximity to the border — most used cars from Europe come from there. The oldest vehicle fleet was recorded in Kherson (19.3 years) and Donetsk (19.2 years) regions. The reasons are economic and security: the low level of fleet renewal due to hostilities and partial occupation of these territories. Data from Luhansk region and Crimea are not available.

Thus, a clear division is observed in the domestic market: younger cars are concentrated in the capital and the EU border regions, while in the east and south the car fleet is 4–8 years older than the average. This difference directly affects the state of the service market, the availability of modern technologies and the level of road safety.
