Every year, the fleet is replenished with newer models of electric vehicles with larger batteries that do not require daily charging — unlike earlier versions with a range of 1-2 days for daily trips to work and back. This eliminates the dependence on a socket at home or in the garage — a problem that previously restrained demand. The development of a network of high-speed public charging opens up new opportunities for the electric vehicle market.
Analysts from the Institute for Automotive Market Research analyzed the set of models in the Ukrainian electric vehicle fleet (the volume of which is over 185 thousand ), and determined that 57% of its residents have batteries with a capacity of over 50 kWh, so they can be safely classified as "long-range", or at least those suitable for interregional trips.

Prices for network EV charging stations
Despite the fact that from September 1, 2025, tariffs for electricity distribution for consumers of both voltage classes 1 and 2 were increased in a number of regions, which theoretically could have led to an increase in final tariffs for EV charging stations, in practice this did not happen — most operators retained the old prices, one of the networks added a hryvnia for fast charging, while another operator reduced tariffs by UAH 1.50 for AC connection, and by UAH 1.91 for DC.
According to information from mobile or web applications of leading network EGS operators in Ukraine, focusing primarily on stations located near intercity roads and the tariffs that were most frequently repeated, we obtain the following values in hryvnias for 1 "shipped" kilowatt-hour:

Depending on the location, lower or higher tariffs may occur — this should be clarified in the relevant applications of the charging station operators. Also, some stations apply a "standby" tariff — when the car is connected, but charging is not taking place (completed), but we will not take this moment into account. According to the observations of IDA specialists, higher tariffs are more common at roadside charging stations, especially if they are high-speed (80...100 kW and more). Lower tariffs are mainly at charging stations located in the parking lots of various businesses — hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, etc.
Letʼs note that this information is provided for reference purposes — it is not a rating of EV charging station operators, but only a guideline for those who have or plan to purchase an electric vehicle.
- The average price of a kilowatt-hour received via the AC port this month is 15.27 UAH (-0.25 UAH), via the DC port — 17.77 UAH (-0.15 UAH).
Electric cars and savings
From now on, in every review of “fuel” tariffs for electric vehicles, we will add a slide with a visual comparison of costs per 100 kilometers of run for a conventional electric vehicle that consumes 20 kWh/100 km. This is even an overestimated cost value, or driving in “all-inclusive” mode — without saving on dynamics and the use of additional equipment, in particular, an air conditioning system for most of the cars in our fleet.
The lower band is the average price of 10 liters of A-95 gasoline, which theoretically should be enough for 100 km of mileage (in practice, more is needed in urban mode) for a car with an internal combustion engine.

The diagram clearly indicates that the most profitable option remains a home outlet, especially if there is a dual-zone electricity meter. It is slow, at best up to 100...150 km per night with a return of 3 kW), but also the least expensive — about the same as for a portion of coffee at a kiosk. Charging a car at an EV charging station is more expensive, but here we pay for speed (approximately from 20 min to 1 h to "full"), and the ability to make interregional trips, or even local ones, for those who do not have the opportunity to use a home outlet, but have already managed to understand that the advantages of an electric car are not only in its economy. There is no point in describing the comparison with gasoline consumption — everything is visible in the diagram without comments.
