During May 2025, Ukrainians and local enterprises purchased 6.7 thousand new passenger cars. Compared to May 2024, we have an increase of 14.6%; when comparing this yearʼs May to April, we get a plus of 11.2%.

The majority of new passenger cars, as usual (97.5%, 6,526 units), were imported from abroad. The share of passenger cars manufactured in Ukraine was 2.5% (166 units).
Among the brands, the most cars submitted for first registration were cars with Toyota, Volkswagen, and Skoda emblems. Here are the Top 10 manufacturers according to the results of May of this year:

Among the individual models, Renault Duster and Toyota RAV4 already look familiar in this list. But the Toyota LC Prado did not shine in the Top 10 very often, so it is worth congratulating this model with a high third place. Also, the young Volkswagen ID Unix quickly broke into the ranking of the most popular cars — the worldʼs first "AI-SUV-coupe" from VW, created exclusively for China. It combines style, technology (3D-avatar, AR-HUD, gesture control) and range (~620 km), and was not intended for markets other than China. However, as statistics show, the love of Ukrainian buyers for everything with the VW badge did not become an obstacle to the mass relocation of this model.

Among new passenger cars registered as manufactured in Ukraine (quantitatively included in the overall ranking), the leader last month was the Skoda Karoq crossover (86 units), which is produced at the Transcarpathian Eurocar plant. The next steps were divided among passenger cars converted by local enterprises for various special purposes (ordered by the police, medical services, etc.) in quantities not exceeding ten cars.
The picture of fuel priorities in the new passenger car segment is as follows: gasoline versions have the largest share, 35.8%. Variants with hybrid power plants are not far behind, with a share of 27.2%. Electric cars, with a market share of 18.7%, have overtaken diesel cars, which have attracted the interest of 18.3% of buyers.
