Experts from the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed statistics on semi-trailer registrations in Ukraine in April 2025 and identified the most popular types and brands in three key segments: used imports, domestic resales, and new registrations.
Semi-trailer market dynamics
In April, Ukrainian carriers purchased a total of 1,182 new and used semi-trailers. This is 9.4% less than in March and 55.4% less than in April 2024.

The largest share was accounted for by domestic resales — 62.4% (738 units), followed by used imports — 30.8% (364 units). New imported semi-trailers accounted for 4.7% (55 units), and another 2.1% (25 units) were equipment manufactured in Ukraine.
By individual subsegments, the dynamics of semi-trailer trade, comparing Q1-2025 to Q1-2024, looks like this:
Changes in dynamics compared to previous periods:
- Domestic resales: –6.0% MoM, –49.5% YoY
- Used car imports: –15.7% MoM, –63.9% YoY
- New imports: 0.0% MoM, –65.4% YoY
- Made in Ukraine: –24.2% MoM, +19.0% YoY
As we can see, the market continues its downward trend in most segments, with the only exception being domestic production, which is showing growth compared to April last year.
The most popular semi-trailers on the domestic market
The most popular category here was dump trucks, with demand also for on-board tilt versions and container trucks.
Among manufacturers, the leader in the domestic market was the German Shmitz Cargobull — 172 products of this brand were purchased.
The second and third places were also taken by German brands — Krone (90 units) and Kögel (76 units), respectively.
The most popular used semi-trailers imported from abroad
Among the "freshly imported" semi-trailers, the most popular were the tented versions, and refrigerators and tented platforms were also actively imported.

The first in the list of the most popular used semi-trailers imported from abroad was the Shmitz Cargobull brand with a total of 151 first registrations.
Krone products came in second place (56 units). Kögel came in third place (30 units).
Most popular new semi-trailers
In this group, dump trucks became the most popular type. Platforms were the second most popular, and the third position was occupied by flatbed versions.
The ranking of new semi-trailer manufacturers was led by Shmitz Cargobull (26 units). Second place was taken by Everlast (9 units), and third place went to TAD with a total of 8 units, the same as Mega.
