Experts from the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed vehicle registration statistics in Ukraine in April 2025 and identified the most popular models in three segments of tractor units: imported used, domestic resale, and new.
Tractor unit market dynamics
During April 2025, Ukrainians purchased a total of 1,040 new and used tractor units. This figure is 58.3% lower compared to the results of the same period in 2024, and 11.5% lower compared to March of this year.
The structure of this segment is as follows: the share of domestic resales was 56.9% (592 units), imports of used tractor units — 36.5% (1,246 units).The total share of "trucks" with mileage was 93.5%.
6.5% of tractor units were purchased new, which in quantitative terms is equal to 68 units of such equipment.
By individual subsegments, the comparative dynamics of the tractor unit market looks like this:
- Domestic resales: −7.5% MM, −57.1% YY
- Used imports: −16.7% MM, −59.3% YY
- New imports: −13.9% MM, −62.0% YY
The most popular tractors on the domestic market
The most popular tractor unit on the domestic market in Ukraine is the DAF XF. 156 sales contracts for this model were concluded.
The second place in terms of quantity is occupied by MAN TGX, 113 units, the third by Volvo FH, 72 units.
The most popular used tractor units imported from abroad
In April 2025, the first place among the “customized” tractors was taken by the MAN TGX, which replenished our fleet in the amount of 102 units. In second place is the MAN TGX, whose total number is 100 first registrations. In third place is the Volvo FH with a result of 46 trucks.

The most popular new tractor units
Among the new models of tractor units, Ukrainian carriers most often purchased Volvo FH —This tractor was sold in quantities of 29 units.
The second place in this category was taken by the MAN TGX with a total of 16 new vehicles. The third position was taken by the Scania R-Series with a result of 6 tractor units, the same as the Mercedes-Benz Actros.
Since the summer of last year, the segment of tractor units has been experiencing a steady decline in volumes in all subsegments. None of them is showing positive dynamics. Imports have suffered the most — the arrival of these strategically important machines for the economy has fallen to a record low. A small increase is only due to the sale of new tractors, but the overall situation remains negative. Given the average age of tractors on the domestic market (15 years) and imported used machines (9.5 years), with the current dynamics, further aging of the fleet is expected.
