“Prygon” is the basis of the electric car segment in Ukraine. This word, familiar to motorists, refers to the import of used cars, even when the car is not actually “driven” but is transported by sea or delivered by a car carrier.
Here are the numbers that prove it: the share of "freshly driven" cars among all electric cars on the market as of April 2025 was 57.3%, that is, more than half, and, accordingly, more than the other two subsegments combined — sales of new and domestic resales of used electric cars.
In total, during the last month of this year, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with 4,704 BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) passenger cars with mileage.
The dynamics of this part of the car market are as follows: plus 40.6% compared to April 2024 volumes, but minus 0.9% compared to March 2025.
We remind you that 2025 is the last year when customs clearance privileges for electric vehicles are in effect. We predict an increase in import volumes this year, and it is also possible that queues will appear for them and prices will rise. So you should buy now, before everything just mentioned starts in full force.

Which electric cars were most often ordered, and, accordingly, "brought" from abroad in April? Here the tastes of Ukrainian motorists turned out to be quite clear: almost a third of them chose Tesla. Nissan is currently holding its own thanks to two generations of Leaf, but with a double lag behind the American brand. Hyundai is in third place, which entered the group of brands with a share of over 10%, thanks to the growth in demand for Ioniq and Kona.
Among the individual models that most often replenished the Ukrainian car fleet, the Tesla Model Y takes the lead, displacing the long-time leader Nissan Leaf to second place. Third place behind the Tesla Model 3.
The average age of electric cars arriving in our country last month was 5.1 years — the lowest value among all segments of our used car market.
