What are the most popular passenger cars in the domestic market? Top 10 brands and models of 2024

The change in the rules for mobilizing citizensʼ transport, according to which the second and other (if more than one) cars can be confiscated for defense needs, caused an immediate reaction from car owners — they responded to this with a wave of mass re-registrations of cars to bring the ownership formula to the format of one person — one car. Therefore, the summer peak of "trading" is actually a "boom of re-registrations" of vehicles to loved ones (as well as donations, rejections — more on this in our other reviews), which left their mark on the general statistics. IDA experts suggest that the total amount of volumes could include about 150 thousand "idle" re-registrations of cars to family members or relatives, respectively, the real number of resales may be approximately the same as in 2023 (956 thousand).

What brands did Ukrainians prefer more often? As in previous periods, Ukrainians do not betray their "national" brand — Volkswagen, whose share was 12.5%, which is twice as much as that of the brands that were located after it on the list. The second place, with a minimal quantitative lead, was taken by the Renault brand. Various types of VAZs still do not lose their relevance, due to their low prices (which are now at the price of an average smartphone), and the quantity, which is enough for the descendants of Fiat to still be able to cover a significant share of the "secondary". Next — manufacturers more accustomed to European motorists, such as Skoda, Toyota, BMW.
The Volkswagen Passat is the leader in the list of models — it would be strange if this place went to some other brand, because every month the Passat proudly looked down on other participants in the rating all last year. Also, high demand remained for the Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Golf.
The average age of cars on the secondary market in 2024 was 16.3 years.
Finally, your favorite section, in which we count premium segment cars. So, in the 12 months of 2024 , 3,372 Porsches, 204 Maserati, 147 Bentleys, 33 Rolls-Royces, 17 Aston Martins, 12 Ferraris, 11 Lamborghinis, 6 Maybachs, 3 Lotuses and 3 McLarens were resold on the domestic market.
The most respectable cars were three Mercedes-Benz: one 130 model and two 170V models. Their documents indicate the year of manufacture as 1936.
