Top 15 trucks that were offered most often on the Internet last year
Specialists of the Institute of Auto Market Research analyzed data from the aggregator Automoto.ua, which collects information from the main sites for the sale of automotive equipment in Ukraine, and identified the 15 most popular truck models with which the most ads were created during the past 2024. It is worth noting that these data reflect the structure of supply, not demand, since they are obtained from the array of ads from all sites for the sale of cars in Ukraine.
The top three in terms of the widest offer (number of newly created ads during 2024) were DAF XF, MAN TGX and GAZ 3202.
1. DAF XF
- Average age : 14.3 years
- Average price : $19,500
- Number of ads created per year : 6,888
DAF XF is one of the most popular tractor models in Ukraine due to its reliability, economy and driver comfort. Carriers value this vehicle for its efficient resource-saving engines, modern technologies, comfortable cabins and high load capacity, which makes it as convenient as possible for long-distance transportation.
2. MAN TGX
- Average age : 11.1 years
- Average price : $25,000
- Number of ads : 4,653
The MAN TGX attracts transporters with its excellent power, fuel consumption and price ratio. Reliable engines, a variety of equipment and a comfortable cabin make it a universal choice for various types of transport, both on domestic and international routes.
3. GAZ 3302 Gazelle
- Average age : 19.2 years
- Average price : $2,700
- Number of ads : 3,386
"Gazelle" is a real "workhorse" of small business, which will not be stopped by potholes, lack of maintenance, or even the lack of basic comfort. With its legendary simplicity of design, where any repair can be done with just a hammer and wire, it has become a symbol of the entrepreneur who does not give up. Although driving a "Gazelle" is more about a test of character than about comfort, the lowest price among similar trucks and a certain versatility allow it to still not disappear from the car market and roads.
Market: a mix of small and large
Since we took into account all trucks, based on the volume of supply by year, the list of Top 15 looks quite diverse — but this is what makes our market even more interesting to study. Along with the well-known DAF, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania, Iveco and MAN, GAZ and ZIL have dissolved — the legacy of the Soviet (and to some extent, post-Soviet) auto industry does not leave our car market. By the way, the average (we emphasize — only the average, not the maximum) age of ZILs in the secondary market is over 36 years, which makes this brand the oldest on this list. And I would like to say that the offer for sale is not direct evidence that someone is still buying these cars, but our other studies still confirm that there are buyers for such cars, and in the second half of last year there were even more of them.
