Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine and identified the most popular models in three segments of trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons (except tractor-trailers) : used import, domestic resale and purchase of new cars, including those converted in Ukraine.
Truck market dynamics
The volume of the market of trucks with a gross weight of more than 3,500 kg in November amounted to 1.7 thousand. piece This segment of the Ukrainian car market continues to gradually lose momentum: the overall figure is 15.5% lower compared to October of this year, and compared to November 2023, the decline is even greater: minus 36%.
The structure of this segment is as follows: 70.2% (1192 units) — domestic resales, 12.6% (213 units) — import of used trucks. 9.8% (166 units) — import of new ones, 7.4% (126 units) — sales of manufactured (or converted in factory conditions) in Ukraine. The total share of new machines of this group is 17.2%.
The dynamics of individual sub-segments, the shares of which have just been given, are as follows (MM — the reporting month compared to the previous month; YY — the reporting month compared to the same month last year):
- Domestic resales: -21.9% MM, -43.2% YY
- Used imports: 7.6% MM, -31.3% YY
- New imports: +12.2% MM, +100.0% YY
- Made in Ukraine: -6.7% MM, -20.8% YY
Top 10 trucks on the domestic market
Dump trucks remain the most popular type in this sub-segment, while vans and on-board versions also remain in demand.
Among individual models, Mercedes-Benz Atego took first place, ZIL-130 is currently in second place, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is third.
Top 10 imported trucks with mileage
Vans with hydroboards, vans, and container trucks were most often added to the Ukrainian fleet last month.

The top three newly arrived trucks look like this: Mercedes-Benz Atego is in first place, MAN TGL is second, and Iveco Daily is in third place.
Top 10 new trucks
Among new trucks with a gross weight of more than 3.5 tons, the greatest demand was observed for vans, dump trucks, and forklift trucks. Other types (e.g. container carriers or mobile cranes) were purchased in units.
Among individual models, Citroen Jumper became the leader, Intercargotruck F15121 (refrigerated van) took second place , Mercedes-Benz Sprinter took third place.
The segment of trucks with a gross weight of more than 3500 kg is not the only one where there is a steady decrease in the total volume of trades. A similar trend is present in the adjacent LCV segment. There, the market volume is decreasing every month, which is most likely a consequence of the slowdown in business processes in the country, which leads to a decrease in the demand for transport for commercial activities.
