Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed vehicle registration statistics in Ukraine in June and identified the 20 most popular models of small commercial vehicles in three segments: used import, domestic resale, and new car purchases.
LCV market dynamics
In June, Ukrainians purchased a total of 6,200 light commercial vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons. Which is 16.1% more than in the same period last year, but 45.3% less than in May 2024.
At the same time, it is worth noting that the decrease in the statistical volume from month to month is not related to market activity — in April and May, active "rewriting" of motor vehicles continued, caused by the new law on mobilization, which provides for the potential withdrawal of vehicles for defense needs in the event if the owner, a natural person, has more than one TK in possession. Since citizens own a lot of "buses" and passenger vans that belong to the LCV group, the wave of re-registration of second and more cars of this type to relatives or acquaintances also affected the segment we are considering. If you look at the chart, you can clearly see the peak of these re-registrations, which is now coming to an end.
Therefore, the majority of purchase and sale agreements regarding small commercial cars usually took place on the domestic market — more than 5 thousand (80.7%).
748 used cars belonging to the LCV group (12%) were brought from abroad.
454 new imported LCVs were registered, of which 47 converted Ukrainian enterprises from imported chassis or machine sets. Overall, new LCV sales accounted for 7.2% of the total number of small commercial vehicles purchased.
The most popular LCVs in the domestic market
The greatest demand on the domestic market remains for used vans (3.5 thousand units). Other types, as usual, are less popular. In particular, low-tonnage vans (398 units), cargo-passenger units (214 units), on-board (162 units), and on-board awning (152 units) cars.
Among individual models , the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (792 units) has held the unchanging leadership in the domestic market for many years in a row. Since 1995, when the "Sprinter" appeared on the market replacing the "beads" of the T1 series, Ukrainian carriers have preferred this rather versatile and durable (the question of corrosion resistance of the body is omitted) car. On our roads, it can be found in a variety of roles — from a cargo van to a city "router" or even a tourist minibus.
In second place is Renault Master (454 units), third is Ford Transit with 338 purchase and sale agreements. On the fourth Volkswagen Transporter (302 units)
Rounding out the top five is the Renault Kangoo with a total of 298 passenger vans.

The most popular used LCVs imported from abroad
Used vans (574 units), refrigerated vans (56 units), awning vans (25 units), hydraulic vans (20 units), and platforms (12 units) were most often brought from abroad.

The leader among imported used LCVs in terms of the number of first registrations of such vehicles was the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, with 179 first registrations.
Renault Master, which is in second place,replenished our fleet in the amount of 154 units. The third in the list is Renault Kangoo with a summary73 cars.
Renault Trafic with 52 "beads" submitted for the first registration, and Volkswagen Crafter in the amount of 43 units also made it to the top five most popular "freshly driven" commercial vehicles.

Vans remain the most popular among new small commercial vehicles (269 units), all other types are bought in relatively small quantities. In particular, the following were purchased new last month: cargo-passenger trucks — 11 units, on-board awnings — 8 units, refrigerated vans — 6 units, truck lifts — 4 units.

Renault Master became the leader of the new LCV segment in June. 89 such models with zero mileage were registered for the first time. The second position in this list belongs to Renault Express with a result of 49 units. Third — Citroen Berlingo (24 units), fourth — Fiat Doblo (14 units).
Rounding out the top five is the Volkswagen Crafter, 12 of which were bought.
