Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of passenger car registrations and identified the Top-20 most popular used models that were bought (and reissued) in Ukraine in June.
In the domestic market during June, service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs registered 99,000 agreements for the sale of used cars. This is 17.6% more than in June 2023, and 38.9% less than in May 2024. After the recent statistical records caused by the "rewriting" of motor vehicles in connection with the acquisition of new rules for the mobilization (removal for the needs of the Armed Forces) of cars from private owners, the volume of re-registrations is returning to more familiar values for our market.
While these numbers are not yet "pure statistics", as parallel indicators show that still not all transactions are trading — "overwriting" is partially present. For example, the number of officially donated passenger cars in June amounted to 3.6 thousand, which is more than for the entire year of 2023, when a total of 3.2 thousand such transactions were recorded. changed legal ownership without actually selling, will approach zero.

The most popular brands in the domestic market
Despite the probable influence of the mentioned external factors, the leader among the passenger car manufacturers, regarding which in June on the domestic market Most often, sales agreements were concluded with Volkswagen: 12.4 thousand of these passenger cars were officially re-registered, which is 12.5% of the total volume of all agreements.
In second place this time (after a long "slip" in the list) is VAZ with a share of 6.0%and 6 thousand transactions. In third place is Renault (5.9%, 5.9 thousand ). Fourth place with a share of 5.4%and 5.4 thousand restyled cars went to Skoda. Toyota closes the top five with a share of 5.2% and 5.2 thousand transactions.

The most popular models in the domestic market
Regardless of the circumstances, the long-time leader of the Ukrainian secondary car market, Volkswagen Passat, continues to hold the first place in terms of the number of re-registrations in June (3.6 thousand transactions). In second place is Skoda Octavia (3.1 thousand transactions).
The third place was occupied by Volkswagen Golf (2.7 thousand transactions), the fourth place is still held by Daewoo Lanos (2.4 thousand transactions). Rounding out the top five is Renault Megane (1.8 thousand deals).
The first five models, even taking into account the atypical activity of motorists regarding re-registrations, have not changed — which is explained by the fullness of the park with popular models that make up the active part of the market.

Despite the partial influence of external factors, the picture regarding brands and models has not undergone significant changes, since their recruitment to the car market is usually correlated with the active part (that is, those vehicles that are in regular operation) of the car park, accordingly, they sell what they drive, and, by analogy, they drive what they trade.
