Experts from the Institute of Auto Market Research analyzed statistics on semi-trailer registrations in Ukraine and identified the most popular types and brands in three key segments: used imports, domestic resales, and new registrations.
Semi-trailer market dynamics
In July 2025, Ukrainian carriers purchased a total of 1,132 new and used semi-trailers. This is 1% less than in June this year, and 46.3% less than in July 2024.
The largest share was accounted for by domestic resales — 61.1% (692 units), followed by imports of used ones, 30.4% (344 units). New imported semi-trailers accounted for 7.4% (84 units), and another 1.1% (12 units) were vehicles manufactured in Ukraine.
By individual subsegments, the dynamics of semi-trailer trades looks like this:
- Domestic resales: −2.5% MM, −47.4% YY
- Used imports: +3.6% MM, −39.2% YY
- New imports: +7.7% MM, −60.2% YY
- Made in Ukraine: −50.0% MM, −25.0% YY
Statistics show a stable downward trend in this part of the car market.
The most popular semi-trailers on the domestic market
The most popular category here was dump trucks, with demand also for on-board tented versions and refrigerated vans.
Among manufacturers, the leader in the domestic market was the German Shmitz Cargobull — 155 products of this brand were purchased.
The second and third places were also taken by German brands — Krone (79 units) and Kögel (60 units), respectively.
The most popular used semi-trailers imported from abroad
Among the "freshly imported" semi-trailers, the most popular were the tented versions, and dump trucks and tented platforms were also actively imported.

The first in the list of the most popular used semi-trailers imported from abroad was the Shmitz Cargobull brand with a total of 147 first registrations.
Krone products came in second place (37 units). Kögel came in third place (16 units).
Most popular new semi-trailers
In this group, the most popular type is refrigerator trucks. Dump trucks are the second most popular, and the third position is occupied by tented versions.
The ranking of new semi-trailer manufacturers was led by Shmitz Cargobull (28 units). Second place in Krone products (12 units), third place went to Wielton with a total of 11 units.
