What buses did you buy in March? Rating of new and used models

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine in March and identified the most popular models in three segments of buses: import of used, domestic resale and purchase of new ones.

Bus market dynamics

In March 2024, Ukrainian carriers purchased 744 new and used buses. This is 4.6% more than in the same period last year, but 4.4% less than in February 2024. The peak of trading in the bus segment fell in August last year, then the demand for this type of passenger transport decreased, after which there was a slight increase in trading in the segment in February of this year, which changed to a decrease in volumes at the beginning of spring.

Most of the buses were bought on the domestic market : 619 units, which made up 83.2 of the total number.

9.1% of the total number of used buses were brought from abroad : 68 units.

Also last month, 57 new buses were registered for the first time: 42 of them were manufactured or converted in Ukraine ( 5.6% ), 15 (2%) came from abroad.

The most popular buses on the domestic market

Buses based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter remain the leader in domestic resales, with 173 units bought. A significant part of these vehicles was converted into passenger buses from trucks at one time.

In second place is Bohdan/Ataman A-092with a result of 56 machines. On the third place — BAZ/CHAZ A079 "Etalon" (49 units), on the fourth position Volkswagen LT (40 units);

The fifth place, with the number of 19 buses, was shared by the products of one manufacturer — Mercedes-Benz, the T1 series and the Vario family.

In general, the majority of buses in the domestic market are of small and medium capacity.

The average age of buses sold on the domestic market in March was 19.4 years.

The most popular used buses brought from abroad

Due to a large number of legislative restrictions, few buses are brought from abroad today. Such vehicles are subject to the limitation of the ecological standard no lower than "Euro-5", and the amount of excise tax is 50 times greater for buses over 8 years old, which makes their import economically unprofitable.

In March, buses based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter took first place, 12 of them arrived. In second place is the tourist Volvo B12 with a total of 7 "freshly driven" buses.

The third place goes to the city car Mercedes-Benz Citaro (5 pcs.). The following models, if you separate them by place, will have to be grouped up to the 13th line in the list, because their number is the same — 3 or 2 units each.

The most popular new buses

Most of the new buses that Ukrainians registered for the first time in March are products of Ukrainian enterprises. The first place was won by BAZ A081 "Etalon" (19 units), the second — Bohdan A-093 (also 15 units), the third — buses based on Ford Transit (12 units). You can also add Bohdan A-092 to the leaders, which were bought in the amount of 6 pcs., all other models of new buses sold only one copy each.
