Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine in March and identified the 20 most popular models of small commercial vehicles in three segments: import of used cars, domestic resale and purchase of new cars.
LCV market dynamics
In March, Ukrainians purchased a total of 5,700 light commercial vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons. Which is 10.3% more than in the same period last year, and also 1.6% more than in February-2024.
The majority of small commercial cars were usually purchased on the domestic market — 4,000 (69.5%). 984 used LCVs (17.3%) were brought from abroad.
752 new imported LCVs were registered, 27 of them. converted Ukrainian enterprises from imported chassis or machine sets. Overall, new LCV sales accounted for 13.2% of the total number of small commercial vehicles purchased.
The most popular LCVs in the domestic market
The greatest demand on the domestic market remains for used vans (2.8 thousand units). Other types are in the minority, including on-board (197 units), cargo-passenger (185 units), low-tonnage vans (162 units), and on-board awnings (135 units).
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (574 units) has held the unchanging leadership in the domestic market for many years in a row. The chassis of this car is used for various superstructures, as well as being converted for various needs of small and medium-sized businesses, including being used as special equipment. Renault Master is in second place (347 units), Ford Transit is third with 272 purchase and sale agreements. On the fourth GAZ-3302 "Gazelle" (258 pcs.)
Rounding out the top five is the Volkswagen Transporter with a total of 244 vans.

The most popular used LCVs imported from abroad
From abroad, used vans (692 units), refrigerator vans (66 units), flatbed vans (50 units), hydraulic vans (40 units) and platforms (39 units) were most often brought from abroad.

The leader among imported used LCVs in terms of the number of first registrations of such vehicles was the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, with 241 first registrations.
Renault Master, which is in second place,replenished our fleet in the amount of 209 units. The third in the list is Renault Kangoo with a summary78 cars
Renault Trafic with 66 cars submitted for first registration and Volkswagen Crafter with 58 "beads" also made it to the top five most popular "freshly driven" commercial vehicles.

The most popular new LCVs
Among the new small commercial vehicles, vans remain the most popular (360 units), all other types are bought in relatively small quantities. In particular, the following were purchased new last month: cargo-passenger — 11 units, on-board awnings — 11 units, emergency repair — 4 units, on-board double-cab — 3 units.

Renault Express became the leader of the new LCV segment in March. 123 such models with zero mileage were registered for the first time. The second position in this list belongs to Renault Master with a result of 98 units. The third is Peugeot Partner (28 units), the fourth is Citroen Berlingo (19 units).
Rounding out the top five is the Ford Transit, 13 of which were bought.
