Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of car registrations and identified the Top-20 most popular used models that were bought in Ukraine in December.
The most popular brands in the domestic market
It is the leader among manufacturers of passenger cars that were bought on the domestic market in December most often, Volkswagen remains. Ukrainians concluded 9,000 purchase and sale agreements for cars of this brand, which is 12.5% of their total number.
VAZ (Lada) remains in second place with a share of 6.7% and 4.9 thousand transactions. In third place is Skoda (5.8%, 4.2 thousand ). Fourth place with a share of 5.5% ( 4 thousand ) goes to Renault. Rounding out the top five is BMW with a share of 5.2% and 3.8 thousand transactions.

The most popular models in the domestic market
The first place among domestic sales in December was once again taken by the unchanging leader of the Ukrainian secondary car market Volkswagen Passat (2.7 thousand deals). In second place is Skoda Octavia (2.4 thousand transactions).
Volkswagen Golf took the third place (2,000 deals), and Daewoo Lanos (1,700 deals) is still in fourth place. Rounding out the top five is Renault Megane (1.2 thousand transactions).
The top five models that Ukrainian motorists buy most often do not change much over many months, which indicates a constant demand for these cars. It is also worth noting that although the models from the given Top-20 belong to different classes — from compact budget versions to sedans or crossovers of the "business" segment, in terms of price, they do not go too far beyond the Ukrainian mass market, which is in the range $2-10 thousand. It is clear that for cars of the highest class, the difference in price is compensated by their age, less often — auction origin.
