Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in November 2023, described the market dynamics and identified the 20 most popular new passenger cars of the month.
Dynamics of the new car market
In November, Ukrainians purchased 5,800 new cars. This is slightly less (by an insignificant 0.7% ) than in October 2023, and significantly more, by 84.8%, than in November 2022. In total, from the beginning of the year to November 30, 2023, Ukrainians registered 57,400 new cars for the first time.
Most new cars in November ( 90.3%, 5,264 units) were imported from abroad. The share of passenger cars manufactured in Ukraine by the method of large-unit assembly or converted from imported machine sets increased slightly and amounted to 9.7% (567 units).
Buyers of new cars were mainly individuals (63.5%, 3,704 units), legal entities purchased 2,127 cars (36.5%).
During the past month, the largest number of new cars were registered in the city of Kyiv (2,248 units, 38.6%) and Kyiv region (668 units, 11.5%) — which is more than half of the total volume (50.1%) of the new car market cars Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (437 units, 7.5%), Lviv Oblast (337 units, 5.8%) and Odesa Oblast (334 units, 5.7%) are also among the leaders.
The fewest new cars were registered in Luhansk (6 units) , Kherson (6 units), Donetsk (39 units) , Chernihiv (56 units) and Sumy (57 units) regions.
The most popular new cars
Most often, in November, as in previous months, buyers of new cars chose Toyota (850 units, 14.6%). The second place belongs to Volkswagen (509 units, 8.7%).
In third place, with a small margin, is Skoda (470 units, 8.1%), followed by Renault (362 units, 6.2%). Nissan closes the top five with a result of 317 cars and a share of 5.4%.
The electric crossover Volkswagen ID.4 continues to hold the first position in the rating of new cars for several months in a row, 297 units of which were purchased.
Second place, as last month, is occupied by Toyota RAV-4 (273 units). On the third step is Renault Duster (254 units). Nissan Qashqai took fourth place (209 units), Toyota Land Cruiser Prado took fifth place (149 units).

Among the new passenger cars manufactured or converted in Ukraine and registered in November, the most popular was the Renault Duster police car (144 units), as well as the Skoda Kodiaq (129 units) and Skoda Karoq (75 units), which are manufactured at the Evrocar factory in Transcarpathia» by the method of large-node assembly.
