Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of registrations of "electric cars" in Ukraine during June and identified the top 20 models in three segments: import of used cars, domestic resale and purchase of new electric cars. The market segment is growing more and more, and the first month of summer brought two records at once: the maximum number of imported used "electric cars" (over 2.5 thousand), and the maximum number of first registrations of new cars with an electric engine: 600 units.
Dynamics of the electric car market
In June, Ukrainians purchased 4,600 new and used electric cars. This is almost twice as much — by 91.7% — than in May last year; and 15% more than in May 2023. And this is another monthly record for sales of electric cars in Ukraine.
Among the total number of electric cars in May, 98.9% were cars, 1.1% were trucks (51 units).
More than half of electric cars ( 56.9%, 2,591 units) were brought used from abroad. Such a share turned out to be a record for the last 11 months, and the number turned out to be the largest in the history of the Ukrainian car market. Their import is facilitated by the "zero" customs clearance rate.
On the domestic market, 29.9% of the total number of sold cars with an electric motor (1,360 units) were purchased.
13.2% of cars (600 units) were bought new. This is also the maximum quantitative indicator, and therefore another record on the car market.
As of the end of May 2023, according to the calculations of the Institute of Car Market Research, the total fleet of automobiles with an electric engine is 61,019 units registered in Ukraine (taking into account those removed from the register due to scrapping and export abroad): 59,009 passenger cars, 2,005 trucks and 5 buses.
