The motorcycle season has begun: sales doubled in March

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of motorcycle registrations in March and identified the top models in three segments: import of used, domestic resale and purchase of new motorcycles and mopeds.

Dynamics of the motorcycle market

In March, Ukrainians purchased 4,400 motorcycles and mopeds. This is 1366.7% more than in March 2022 and 144.4% more than in February 2023.

Among the total number, 50.9% of motorcycles and mopeds were new (imported from abroad), amounting to 2,240 pieces. Thus, the motorcycle segment remains the only one in the Ukrainian car market, where the majority of transactions are sales of new vehicles.

1.7 thousand contracts for the purchase and sale of motorcycle equipment were concluded on the domestic market, which accounted for 38.3% of the total number.

Only 10.7% were imported used from abroad (471 units).

The most popular motorcycles and mopeds on the domestic market

In March, the Jawa 350 motorcycle (29 units) was bought the most in the domestic market. Honda CB500 (27 units) took second place, and Lifan LF200 (27 units) took third place.

Loncin LX250 (25 units) and Bajaj Dominar 400 (21 units) also made it to the top five.

The most popular used motorcycles and mopeds brought from abroad

In March, the most used Yamaha Jog (49 units) was imported from abroad. In second place is Honda Dio (30 units). Yamaha Drag Star 400 (15 units) placed third.

Yamaha Gear (15 pcs.) and Honda CB500 (14 pcs.) were also often brought.

Motorcycles of Chinese manufacturers are mostly bought new in Ukraine. Yes, the first was the Mustang MT125 (172 units). The second place was taken by Spark SP125C (115 units), and the third place by Lifan LF175 (109 units).

The fourth place was taken by Bajaj Boxer BM 150 (77 units). Closes the first five Spark SP200 (74 pcs.).
