Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of registrations of "electric cars" in Ukraine during March and identified the top 15 models in three segments: import of used cars, domestic resale and purchase of new electric cars. It turned out that several records were set in the market segment at once.
Dynamics of the electric car market
In March, Ukrainians bought 3,200 new and used electric cars. This is 1500% more than last March and 39.1% more than February 2023. Such a monthly indicator turned out to be a record not only for the last 12 months, but also in general for sales of electric cars in Ukraine.
Among the total number of electric cars in March, 98.8% were cars, 1.2% were trucks (38 units).
The majority of electric cars in February (47.2%, 1,499 units) were brought in used from abroad. That is, the fleet of electric cars in Ukraine continues to be filled mainly by importing used cars from abroad.
35% of the total number of sold cars with an electric motor (1,113 units) were purchased on the domestic market.
17.8% of cars (564 units) were bought new. The share of sales of new electric vehicles has been growing for the seventh month in a row, and in March it was the largest since 2013. Quantitative indicators were also maximal.
As of the end of March 2023 , the total fleet of automobiles with an electric engine is 51,636 cars registered in Ukraine (taking into account those removed from the register due to scrapping and export abroad): 49,551 cars, 1,885 trucks and 4 buses.
TOP of the most popular electric cars on the domestic market
The first place among domestic resales is traditionally occupied by the Nissan Leaf, with a wide margin from the closest competitors. As many as 296 purchase and sale agreements were concluded in March.
Volkswagen ID.4 took second place with 145 concluded purchase and sale agreements.
Tesla Model 3 rose one step and took third place (74 transactions). Honda M-NV was in fourth place (71 deals). Rounding out the top five most popular used electric cars on the Ukrainian domestic market is the Volkswagen E-Golf (66 deals).

TOP imported used electric cars
As in the domestic market, Nissal Leaf (297 units) retained the lead in the segment of "freshly driven" electric cars in March. Tesla Model 3 remains in second place (153 units), and the popular Volkswagen ID.4 (152 units) is in third place.
Fourth place went to Tesla Model Y (116 units), and fifth place to Volkswagen E-Golf (97 units).

Volkswagen ID.4 (160 units) took the first place according to the results of March. The second place was taken by Honda M-NV (108 units), and the third place by Volkswagen ID.6 (31 units).
Audi E-Tron (22 units) took the fourth place, and Dongfeng M5EV (21 units) took the fifth place.
