Sales of truck tractors are growing again. Results of March

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine during March and identified the top models in three segments of truck tractors: import of used vehicles, domestic resale and purchase of new ones.

Dynamics of the truck tractor market

Sales of truck tractors decreased during October-December 2022, stabilized in January-February 2023, and began to grow in March. Thus, in the first month of spring, Ukrainians bought 3.7 thousand new and used tractors. This is 3600% more than in the same period of last year 2022 and 12% more than in February 2023.

Majority( 50.5% ) of all tractors were brought used from abroad (1.9 thousand units).

1,600 units were purchased on the domestic market, which is 43% of the total number.

6.5% of truck tractors were purchased new, which in quantitative terms equals 239 units.

The most popular tractors on the domestic market

DAF XF became the most popular semi-trailer truck on the domestic market in March — 483 units of such models were sold, which traditionally more than doubles the figures of the nearest competitor   — Renault Magnum (206 units).

The third step was taken by MAN TGX (176 units), and the fourth by Volvo FH (176 units). Rounding out the top five is Renault Premium (131 units).

In March, MAN TGX (563 units) was the most popular for "importation" from abroad, DAF XF (467 units) was in second place, and Volvo FH (266 units) was in third place.

The fourth place was taken by Scania R-Series (112 units), and the fifth place by Mercedes-Benz Actros (107 units).

In March, the new Mercedes-Benz Actros tractor unit (74 units) became the first in terms of sales. The second step was taken by Volvo FH (66 units), and the third by Scania R-Series (42 units).

Fourth place was taken by MAN TGX (17 units), and fifth place by Scania G-Series (10 units).
