Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of car registrations and identified the top 15 most popular used models that were bought in Ukraine in February. For the first time in many years, the former sales leader Daewoo Lanos dropped to the third step.
The most popular brands in the domestic market
The leader of passenger car brands that were bought on the domestic market, according to the results of February remains Volkswagen. Ukrainians concluded 7,800 purchase and sale agreements for cars of this brand, which is 12.1% of the total number.
In second place is still the Russian-Soviet VAZ product. The share of the brand is gradually decreasing and in January amounted to 6.1% ( 3.9 thousand transactions).
The third place in the rating was taken by Renault (5.9%, 3.8 thousand ). The fourth position was taken by Skoda with a share of 5.7% ( 3.6 thousand ). Toyota closes the top five with a share of 5.4% and 3.5 thousand transactions.
The most popular models in the domestic market
The first place among domestic sales in February was taken by the unchanging leader of the Ukrainian car market , Volkswagen Passat (2.3 thousand deals). Skoda Octavia rose to second place for the first time (2.1 thousand deals).
The long-time leader of the secondary market of Ukraine, the once popular Daewoo Lanos and its modifications continue to lose popularity among Ukrainians. According to the results of February, this car dropped to third place for the first time (2 thousand deals).
The fourth step was taken by Volkswagen Golf (1.7 thousand transactions). Rounding out the top five is Renault Megane (1.2 thousand transactions).
In general, the February ranking of resales of used cars in the domestic market looks like this:

- Skoda Octavia — 2,060 deals
- Lanos & Sens — 2,031 deals
- Volkswagen Golf — 1,743 deals
- Renault Megane — 1,186 deals
- Ford Focus — 987 deals
- Skoda Fabia — 923 deals
- BMW 5 Series — 920 deals
- Toyota Camry — 889 deals
- Audi A6 — 862 deals
- Opel Astra — 854 deals
- VAZ 2109/99 — 834 deals
- BMW 3 Series — 827 deals
- Chevrolet Aveo — 798 deals
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class — 748 deals
