23.1 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad were submitted for first registration in August 2025. This figure is actually equal (+0.1%) to the results of July of this year, and 15.4% less than in the same period (August) of 2024.
In the diagram, import volumes are marked by orange sections of the bars. Since the beginning of the year, import volumes have been gradually increasing: from 14.5 thousand cars in January to 22.5 thousand in May. Then, in June, there was a slight decrease in the pace, which has now changed to a slight increase (or stabilization) in July-August.

Volkswagen remains the leader in imports by a significant margin — the brand continues to dominate the used car segment thanks to a wide selection of models, availability of components, and good prices at European auctions. In second place is Audi, a brand that is consistently included in the list of premium cars that are imported more often.
Nissan, Tesla and BMW were in the middle of the ranking. Interest in electric vehicles, in particular Tesla, remains high, especially among residents of large cities. Ford, Renault, Hyundai, Skoda and KIA also made the top ten — models of these brands are often chosen as practical, reliable and relatively affordable in terms of customs clearance costs.

Our predictions that the Tesla Model Y has serious intentions to take the first place have finally come true: the Volkswagen Golf, after a long stay on the first line, has now moved to the second position. Yes, it is too early to say whether this will last long, because the import of Tesla is now stimulating the approach of a significant increase in the price of electric cars, but the Golf also played here not without the help of its electric version. So it will be even more interesting to watch this rating in the coming months.
Next on the list is a fairly familiar set of models, where it is worth noting almost the same number of first registrations of the Skoda Octavia and Tesla Model 3 — although cars from completely different families and with different histories, interest in them on the market has now equalized.
Another point worth a separate comment is that the Nissan Leaf was higher than the Nissan Rogue, which, letʼs recall, was number one among newly introduced passenger cars a few years ago. This is not just a statistical coincidence — it is a sign that Ukrainian motorists are starting to prefer practical compact electric cars and are moving away from the idea of "I absolutely need a jeep". Of course, it is unlikely that our market will ever switch to "bugs" of the caliber of Matiz or Fiat-500, but it is already noticeable that the desire for bulky and "image" cars is decreasing and being replaced by more rational solutions.

The average age of passenger cars that entered the Ukrainian fleet during July 2025 has decreased once again: from 8.7 years to 8.5 years — slightly "newer" cars arrive each time.
As for premium models, last month the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with the following cars of this category: 1 Rolls-Royce, 1 Bentley, 2 Aston-Martin, 4 Lamborghini, and 12 Maserati.
