Experts from the Institute for Automotive Market Research analyzed vehicle registration statistics in Ukraine and identified the most popular models in three bus segments: used import, domestic resale, and new purchase.
Bus market dynamics
During July 2025, Ukrainian carriers purchased 514 new and used buses. This is 20.9% more compared to June of this year, but 17.2% less compared to July 2024.
By individual subsegments, the comparative dynamics of bus sales is as follows:
- Domestic resales: +16.7% MM, −34.2% YY
- Used imports: +11.4% MM, +52.9% YY
- New imports: +190.0% MM, −21.6% YY
- Made in Ukraine: +24.1% MM, +200.0% YY
Most of the buses were purchased on the domestic market : 335 units, which amounted to 65.2% of the total.
15.2% of used buses, or 78 units, were brought from abroad.
Also last month, 101 new buses were registered for the first time: 72 of these were manufactured or re-equipped in Ukraine ( 14% ), the remaining 29 units (5.6%) arrived from abroad.
The most popular buses on the domestic market
The leader in domestic resales remains buses based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, with 88 units purchased. A significant portion of these vehicles were converted into passenger buses from trucks at one time.
In second place is VDL Ambassador with a result of 30 cars. In third place is Bogdan A-092.
The most popular used buses imported from abroad
In July 2025, buses based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (23 units) also won the championship in this subsegment.
Second place went to the Dutch VDL Ambassador buses, 10 of which arrived. Third place went to cars based on the Volkswagen Crafter (5 units), the same number of buses based on the Renault Master arrived.

The most popular new buses
The first place in the subsegment of new passenger vehicles was taken by Bogdan/Ataman A-092 with a total of 26 first registrations.
The second place in this ranking is taken by ZAZ A08 with a total of 24 vehicles sold. The third place went to Isuzu Citiport buses with 20 registrations.
