During July 2025, Ukrainians and local enterprises purchased almost 6.1 thousand new passenger cars. Compared to July 2024, we have an increase in volumes of 1%, and when comparing this yearʼs July to June, we also get a plus of 1%.

The majority of new passenger cars, as usual (97.6%, 5,943 units), were imported from abroad. The share of passenger cars manufactured in Ukraine was 2.4% (148 units).
Among the brands, the most cars with Toyota, BYD, and Skoda emblems were submitted for first registration. Here are the Top 10 manufacturers according to the results of June of this year:

In July, the Ukrainian market for new cars quietly but confidently entered a new era — for the first time, the Chinese crossover BYD Song Plus became the absolute leader in sales. This has never happened before: usually the first places were taken by the "Japanese", "Europeans" or "Koreans". But now the Chinese product is second in the list of manufacturers, and first among individual models. As we can see, stereotypes, political issues and similar factors have confidently faded into the background for at least 683 buyers who chose BYD.

Among the new cars registered as being made in Ukraine (quantitatively included in the overall ranking), the leader last month was the Skoda Karoq crossover (70 units), which is produced at the Transcarpathian Eurocar plant. Also in the statistical reports on local production are 26 Toyota RAV4s, converted by local enterprises, apparently to the extent that this made it possible to hang new plates with the inscription Made in Ukraine on them. The rest of the list also includes converted cars of the GAS, SKS, VD and similar brands.
The share of legal entities that became buyers of new cars last month was 32%, while private buyers — individuals, respectively, bought 68% of new cars.
The picture of fuel priorities in the new passenger car segment is as follows: gasoline versions are in the lead with a share of 33.1%. Electric cars are in second place, now they own more than a quarter of the market — 25.5%. Versions with hybrid power plants are currently in third place with a share of 21.5% in the segment. Diesels attracted the attention of only 19.6% of buyers. And a very modest 0.3% went to passenger cars with factory (or “dealer”) LPG.
