Dynamics of the new passenger car market, 2024-2025

The majority of new passenger cars, as usual (97.3%, 5,868 units), were imported from abroad. The share of passenger cars manufactured in Ukraine was 2.7% (161 units).

Among the brands, the most cars submitted for first registration were cars with Toyota, Volkswagen, and Renault emblems. Here are the Top 10 manufacturers according to the results of June of this year:

Among the individual models, Renault Duster and Toyota RAV4 look familiar in this list. Last month, Toyota LC Prado made it to the top ten, but even more successful in moving up the list is the Volkswagen ID Unix — the worldʼs first "AI-SUV-coupe" from VW, created exclusively for China. It combines style, technology (3D-avatar, AR-HUD, gesture control) and range (~620 km), and was not intended for markets other than China. However, as statistics show, the love of Ukrainian buyers for everything with the VW badge did not become an obstacle to the mass relocation of this model, and as a result, it was brought to third place in the ranking.

Among new cars registered as manufactured in Ukraine (quantitatively included in the overall ranking), the leader last month was the Skoda Karoq crossover (79 units), which is produced at the Transcarpathian Eurocar plant. The next steps were divided between Toyota RAV4 (17 units) and Renault Dusrer/SKS-RDS (13 units), converted by local enterprises for various special purposes (ordered by the police, medical services, etc.), and other similar cars in quantities not exceeding ten cars.

The picture by fuel priorities in the new passenger car segment is as follows: gasoline versions are in the lead with a share of 34.9%. The second position is held by electric cars (for those who still doubt their chances for the future) — 23.2%, which has increased by 4.5% pp in a month! Versions with hybrid power plants are currently in third place with 23% in the segment, diesels attracted the attention of only 18.7% of buyers. And a very modest 0.2% went to passenger cars with LPG.
