The total volume of the electric vehicle segment as of May 2025 amounted to 9 thousand, which is 7.6% more than in April of this year and 23% more than in May of last year. Despite all the challenges, the electric vehicle segment continues to grow.
IDA analysts predict that this year the growth will continue, since the main driver will be the return of VAT on customs clearance of electric vehicles from 2026, which will lead to an increase in prices for them by at least 20...30%. If we take into account the new US tax policy, which, according to local manufacturers and market experts, primarily poses risks for local American manufacturers, the price increase may become even greater, and it will affect cars from the US, which are very popular in the electric segment.

The segment structure as of May 2025 is as follows: the basis is imported electric vehicles with mileage, the share of which is 53.5%, or 4,836 units.
The second largest subsegment is domestic resales of BEV passenger cars, share 32.6%, quantity — 2,945 units.
New electric cars took up 13.9% of their group, and in quantitative terms, this is 1,251 units, and this is currently an absolute historical record for the number of first registrations of new electric cars!

- New imports: +33.8% MM, +78.7% YY
Total electric vehicle fleet
As of the end of May 2025, the BEV fleet in Ukraine (excluding industrial electric vehicles, trolleybuses and rail vehicles) will be 164.9 thousand units. Most of it is passenger cars — 160.3 thousand. There are 3.5 thousand electric trucks, there are also several electric buses (8 pcs.), and about 1 thousand units of various motor vehicles.
