Experts from the Institute for Automotive Market Research analyzed vehicle registration statistics in Ukraine in April 2025 and identified the most popular models in three bus segments: used import, domestic resale, and new purchase.
Bus market dynamics
During April 2025, Ukrainian carriers purchased 420 new and used buses. This is 18.9% less compared to March of this year, and 40.3% less compared to April 2024.
By individual subsegments, the comparative dynamics of bus sales is as follows:
- Domestic resales: −20.2% MM, −53.3% YY
- Used imports: −14.7% MM, +135.1% YY
- New imports: −25.0% MM, +60.0% YY
- Made in Ukraine: −10.7% MM, −43.2% YY
Most of the buses were purchased on the domestic market : 284 units, which amounted to 67.6% of the total.
20.7% of used buses, or 87 units, were brought from abroad.
Also in April, 49 new buses were registered for the first time: 25 of these were manufactured or re-equipped in Ukraine ( 6% ), the remaining 24 units (5.7%) arrived from abroad.
The most popular buses on the domestic market
The leader in domestic resales remains buses based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, with 79 units purchased. A significant portion of these vehicles were converted into passenger buses from trucks at one time.
In second place is Volkswagen LT with a result of 19 cars. In third place is BAZ 2215(18 pcs.).
The most popular used buses imported from abroad
In April 2025, buses based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (26 units) also won the championship in this subsegment.
Second place was taken by German buses Setra 400 series, 8 of which arrived. Third place went to cars based on the Volkswagen Crafter (7 units).

The most popular new buses
The Ford Transit took first place in the subsegment of new passenger vehicles with 14 first registrations.
The second place in this ranking is taken by the Etalon A084 with a total of 6 vehicles sold. The third place went to the Ataman A-093 buses, with the same 6 registrations.
