What are the most popular passenger cars in the domestic market? Top 10 brands and models of April 2025

In the domestic market, during April 2025, the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs registered almost 74.3 thousand transactions for the purchase and sale of used cars. This is 1.6% less than in March 2025, and 40.7% less than in April 2024, but then the so-called "re-registration boom" of transport was still ongoing.

The domestic market volumes in the diagram are shown in the upper (orange) part of the columns, and the lower (blue) part shows the volumes of imports of used cars, which we will consider in a separate publication.

Which brands did Ukrainians prefer most often? As in previous periods, the "popular" brand — Volkswagen - confidently leads, with a share of 21.2%, which is significantly more than that of the brands that ranked after it on the list. The second place went to VAZ, which is only a few sales transactions behind Renault, which is in third place.

The Volkswagen Passat remains the leader in the list of models — it would be strange if this place went to some other brand, because every month the Passat proudly looked down on other participants in the rating all last year. Also, high demand remained for the Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Golf.

The average age of cars on the secondary market as of April 2025 has not changed and continues to be 15.8 years.

As always, we will finish by counting the premium segment cars. So, in April of this year, the following number of new owners for not-quite-new cars of this group were found on the domestic market: 1 Maybach, 2 Lotus, 3 BMW Alpina, 4 Rolls-Royce, 4 Aston Martin, 7 Lamborghini, 10 Bentley and 16 Maserati.

The most respectable cars were: ZiM-12, manufactured in 1954, and two models from GAZ, 69 and M-20, manufactured in 1955.
