The total volume of the electric vehicle segment in Q1 2025 amounted to 20.7 thousand, which is 14.6% more than in the first three months of 2024. Despite all the challenges, the electric vehicle segment continues to grow.
IDA analysts predict that this year the growth will continue, since the main driver will be the return of full customs clearance for electric vehicles from 2026, which will lead to an increase in prices for them by at least 20...30%. If we take into account the new US tax policy, which, according to local manufacturers and market experts, primarily poses risks for local American manufacturers, then the price increase may be even greater, at least for cars from the US, which are very popular in the electric segment. In return, prices for Chinese cars of the BEV group may decrease, but for now this is just a hypothesis — because if there is no need to compete on prices, then no one will review them, unless things go very badly with sales, but so far there are no such signals for products of the Chinese auto industry.

The segment structure according to the results of Q1-2025 is as follows: the basis is imported electric vehicles with mileage, the share of which is 56.6%, or 11.7 thousand units.
The second largest subsegment is domestic resales of BEV cars, with a share of 33.4% and a quantity of 6.9 thousand units.
New electric cars occupy 10% of their group, and in quantitative terms, this is 2.1 thousand units.
How did the performance of these sub-segments change year-over-year (Q1 2024 to Q1 2025)?

- Imports of used cars: +21.9%
- New imports: −26.3%
Both segments of used cars grew, but fewer new cars were sold.

Total electric vehicle fleet
As of March 31, 2025, in Ukraine (excluding industrial electric cars, trolleybuses and rail vehicles), the BEV group transport fleet is 152.9 thousand units. Most of it is passenger cars — 148.7 thousand. There are 3.3 thousand electric trucks, there are also several electric buses (5 pcs.), and about 950 units of motor vehicles.
