228.5 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad were submitted for first registration in 2024. This figure is 3.3% higher than in 2023.
The chart shows import volumes as blue bars, and it can be seen that they change slightly from month to month. A small jump in August (followed by a dip) was caused by the announcement of the possible introduction of a 15% tax on the first registration of cars, which somewhat accelerated this part of the market, and later, when it became known that the tax would not be introduced, turned into a decrease in volumes, as some buyers rushed to purchase cars from abroad earlier.

What was applied for first registration more often? A solid victory in this ranking goes to Volkswagen, with a solid share of 15.5%. Audi and Nissan also entered the top three most popular imported brands. Interestingly, Tesla is on the eighth line — until recently an exotic expensive electric car, which is gradually becoming widespread even in our market.

Among individual models, the Volkswagen Golf is in first place, helped by the electric version of the e-Golf, of which almost 2.5 thousand arrived in 12 months. Although even without them, the Skoda Octavia, which is in 2nd place, still would not have been able to win the top spot on this list. In addition to these cars, the Volkswagen Passat entered the top three of the most popular new cars.
The average age of passenger cars that joined the Ukrainian fleet in 2024 was 10 years.
As for premium and rare models, last year the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with the following cars of these categories: 864 Porsche, 75 Maserati, 23 BMW Alpina, 14 Bentley, 12 Lamborghini, 7 Ferrari, 6 Rolls-Royce, 4 Aston Martin, 3 Lotus, 3 McLaren, 3 Hongqi, 1 HiPhi and 1 Xiaomi.
