Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine in October and identified the top brands in three segments of semi-trailers: import of used, domestic resale and purchase of new ones.
Dynamics of the semi-trailer market
Since the segment of semi-trailer trucks did not show growth in October (more precisely, on the contrary, the volumes continued to decrease), a similar picture is observed in the related segment of semi-trailers. During the past month, Ukrainians purchased 1,600 new and used semi-trailers. It by 45.5% less than in the same period last year in 2023, and also by 1.9% less compared to the results of September-2024.
By individual sub-segments, the dynamics of semi-trailer trade is as follows (comparing last month to the month before it, MM, and last month to the same month last year, YY):
- Domestic resales: -14.2% MM, -38.3% YY
- Used imports: +16.6% MM, -52.1% YY
- New imports: +32.1% MM, -58.2% YY
- Made in Ukraine: +33% MM, -23% YY
According to the results of October, 55.6% of all semi-trailers were bought on the domestic market (867 transactions). 561 used semi-trailers were brought from abroad, which accounted for 36% of the total volume.
8.4% of semi-trailers (131 units) were purchased new. Of this number, 24 were produced in Ukraine, and the remaining 107 units. were imported new from abroad.
The most popular semi-trailers on the domestic market
Among manufacturers, the German Shmitz remains the leader in the domestic market of semi-trailers — 176 units were purchased.
The second and third places were also taken by German brands — Krone (118 units) and Kögel (103 units), respectively.
The most popular used semi-trailers brought from abroad
The first in the list of the most popular used semi-trailers brought from abroad was once again the Shmitz brand with a total of 294 first registrations.
Second place was taken by Krone products (79 units). Kögel (44 units) was in third place.

The most popular new semi-trailers
The ranking of manufacturers of new semi-trailers will continue to be headed by the German Shmitz (41 units). The second place this time is for Wielton products (37 units), the third is for the Ukrainian manufacturer VARZ (Verkhnyodniprovskyi Autoremontny Zavod), with a total of 13 units.
