In September, Ukrainians and local enterprises purchased 5,100 new cars. And these are relatively small values, even smaller than the average for the year: this result is 36.8% less compared to August of the same year, and 12% less than last year, in September 2023.
And only a lazy person did not repeat (and will probably repeat more than once) the opinion voiced by the experts of the Institute of Car Market Research earlier: the artificial stimulation of purchases by an information wave about the probable introduction of a 15% tax on new (and used imported) cars will one way or another result in a "slump" of sales in subsequent periods. Our experts also predicted the amount of these fluctuations: about 30%, and thatʼs exactly what happened.
What to expect next? If there are no new factors capable of influencing the car market, in November we can expect a return to the average statistical indicators of trades, about 5.8 thousand/month.
As usual, the majority of new cars in September (94.8%, 4,862 units) were imported from abroad. The share of passenger cars manufactured in Ukraine by the method of large-unit assembly or converted from imported machine kits amounted to 5.2% (265 units).
Buyers of new cars were mostly individuals (69.3%), the share of cars purchased by legal entities was 30.7%.

Among the new passenger cars converted or manufactured in Ukraine and registered in September (quantitatively, they are included in the overall rating), the most popular were Skoda Kodiaq (110 units) and Skoda Karoq (55 units), which are produced at the Transcarpathian Evrocar plant.
