What truck tractors do Ukrainian carriers choose? August results

Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine during August and identified the most popular models in three segments of truck tractors: used import, domestic resale, and new purchase.

Dynamics of the truck tractor market

In August 2024, Ukrainians purchased a total of 1.9 thousand new and used tractor units. This indicator is a significant 34.9% less than the same period in 2023, and also 3.4% less than sales in July 2024.

The share of domestic sales was 61.6%, the import of used truck tractors was 32.2%.At the same time, the total share of "trucks" with mileage amounted to more than 93%.

6.2% of truck tractors were purchased new, which in quantitative terms equals 117 units of such equipment.

By individual sub-segments, the dynamics of the truck tractor market (compared month to previous month, MM, and month to the same month last year, YY) looks as follows:

• Domestic resales: +0.3% MM, -23.9% YY
• Used imports: +1.3% MM, -49.3% YY
• New imports: −40% MM, −31.6% YY

The most popular tractors on the domestic market

DAF XF confidently remains the most popular tractor unit on the domestic market in Ukraine. Agreements on the purchase and sale of such models were concluded with 340 pcs.

The second place in terms of quantity is MAN TGX, 161 units, the third is Volvo FH, 146 units.

In August , MAN TGX won the first place among the "driven" tractors, which added 184 vehicles to our fleet, displacing DAF XF to second place on the list, with 159 first registrations. Volvo FH (88 pcs.) will continue to occupy the third place
