Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed the statistics of motorcycle registrations in February and identified the most popular models in three segments: import of used, domestic resale and purchase of new motorcycles.
Dynamics of the motorcycle market
A sharp drop in the volume of trades in the "moto" segment closer to the middle of winter is replaced by a gradual increase in the activity of motorcycle buyers — when the snow has left the roads, the risk of ice is insignificant, and the rainy days are becoming fewer and fewer, itʼs time to prepare for the motorcycle season. Buy your first motorcycle, or replace the existing model with a newer or more powerful one.
As always, we would like to remind you that the following numbers are obtained only from the accounting of official sales agreements and first registrations. The "shadow" part of the motorcycle market (in particular, the secondary one) remains outside the scope of this review. According to IDA experts, it can be quite significant — even equal to, or even greater than, the official part.
Now about the numbers: in February, Ukrainians bought 3.3 thousand of all motorcycles. This is significantly more (by 83.4%) than in the same period last year, and also by 36% more than in January 2024.
Among the total number , 42.3% of motorcycles were new (imported from abroad), which is 1,395 units. Usually, in the segment of motor vehicles, the majority of deals are sales of new vehicles, but January, like February, became an exception — this time, "Tuesday" prevailed somewhat again.
On the domestic market, 1,617 contracts for the purchase and sale of motorcycle equipment were concluded, which accounted for 49% of the total number.
Only 8.8% of motorcycles were imported used from abroad (289 units).
The average age of motorcycles on the market (as of February) was 13 years for those resold domestically and 12.8 years for motorcycles submitted for first registration after customs clearance.
The most popular motorcycles in the domestic market
In the domestic market, Japanese brands: Honda, Yamaha, and Geon prevailed among motorcycle manufacturers in the specified period.
On the domestic market, sales contracts were most often concluded in February for Lifan LF (80 units), Loncin LX (58 units), and the "classic" Jawa-350 (55 units).

The most popular used motorcycles brought from abroad
In the import segment, there were again not enough manufacturers to make up the classic twenty most popular. However, it is quite logical — it is clearly not the peak season for this segment yet. In general, the import of motorcycles with mileage continues to be held by the Japanese brands Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki.
Among individual models, Honda CB (17 units), Kawasaki Ninja (16 units), and Yamaha FZ (8 units) were most often submitted for the first state registration.

New motorcycles of Chinese manufacturers are mainly bought in Ukraine: in February, the brands Spark, Musstang and Lifan once again became the leaders.
Among the new models of motorcycles in Ukraine, the Spark SP-series (232 units) holds the lead, the second place is once again occupied by the Musstang MT (196 units), the third place (also without changes compared to the previous periods) — the Lifan LF (113 units)
