What buses did you buy in February? Rating of new and used models

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine in February and identified the most popular models in three segments of buses: import of used, domestic resale and purchase of new ones.

Bus market dynamics

In February 2024, Ukrainian carriers purchased 778 new and used buses. This is 32.1% more than in the same period last year, and 13.4% more than in January 2024. The peak of trading in the bus segment fell on August last year, then the demand for this type of passenger transport decreased, and only in February there was a certain increase in trading in this segment.

Most of the buses were bought on the domestic market : 622 units, which accounted for 79.9 of the total number.

8.6% of the total number of used buses were brought from abroad : 67 units.

Also last month, 89 new buses were registered for the first time: 74 of them were manufactured or converted in Ukraine ( 9.5% ), 15 (1.9%) came from abroad.

The most popular buses on the domestic market

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter-based buses remain the leader in domestic resales, with 199 units bought. A significant part of these vehicles was converted into passenger buses from trucks at one time.

In second place is BAZ/CHAZ A079 "Etalon" with a result of 49 cars. In third place — Bohdan/Ataman A-092 (40 units), in fourth position Volkswagen LT (34 units);

Closes the top five Ruta-25 (24 pcs.).

In general, the majority of buses in the domestic market are of small and medium capacity.

The average age of buses sold on the domestic market in February was 19.6 years.

The most popular used buses brought from abroad

Due to a large number of legislative restrictions, few buses are brought from abroad today. Such vehicles are subject to the limitation of the ecological standard no lower than "Euro-5", and the amount of excise tax is 50 times greater for buses over 8 years old, which makes their import economically unprofitable.

In February, buses based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter took first place, 14 of them arrived. In second place is the tourist VanHool T9 with a total of 6 "freshly driven" buses.

The third place goes to the city car VDL Ambassador (5 pcs.), on the fourth place "tourists" VanHool Astromega, which replenished the Ukrainian car fleet in the amount of 5 units. Rounding out the five newly arrived buses is another "tourist" VanHool TX (4 units).

The most popular new buses

Most of the new buses that Ukrainians registered for the first time in February are products of Ukrainian enterprises. The first place was taken by Bohdan A-093 (30 units), the second place was taken by the BAZ A081 "Etalon" (also 30 units), and the third place was a bus based on Ford Transit (15 units).

Bohdan A-092 (6 units) and GOR A2347 with the number of first registrations of 3 units also made it to the top five.
