Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine in November and identified the 20 most popular models of small commercial vehicles in three segments: import of used cars, domestic resale and purchase of new cars.
LCV market dynamics
In November, Ukrainians purchased a total of 5,500 light commercial vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons. This is 32.9% more than in the same period last year, and 3.7% more than in October 2023.
The majority of small commercial cars were usually purchased on the domestic market: 3.8 thousand (70%). 1.1 thousand used LCVs (20.1%) were brought from abroad.
481 units of new imported LCVs were registered, of which 65 registered light trucks were converted by Ukrainian enterprises from imported chassis or machine sets. In total, new LCV sales accounted for 10% of the total number of small commercial vehicles purchased.
The most popular LCVs in the domestic market
The greatest demand on the domestic market was observed for used vans (2.7 thousand units), cargo-passenger vans (196 units), flatbed (183 units), side-mounted awnings (145 units) and low-tonnage vans (144 units).
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (554 units) has held the unchanging leadership in the domestic market for many years in a row. The chassis of this car is used for various superstructures, as well as being converted for various needs of small and medium-sized businesses, including being used as special equipment. Renault Master is in second place (306 units), and GAZ-3302 "Gazelle" (264 units) is in third place so far.the fourth is Ford Transit with 262 purchase and sale agreements.
Rounding out the top five is the Volkswagen Transporter (200 units).

The most popular used LCVs imported from abroad
From abroad, used vans (797 units), side-mounted awnings (78 units), refrigerated vans (57 units), hydraulic vans (44 units) and platforms (29 units) were most often brought from abroad.
The leader among imported used LCVs based on the number of first registrations of such vehicles was the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (300 units), followed by the Renault Master (284 units) with a slight difference. On the third step is the Volkswagen Crafter (77 units).
Renault Traffic and Renault Kangoo also made it to the top five most popular models of small commercial vehicles in November, with 68 and 50 cars, respectively.

The most popular new LCVs
Among the new small commercial vehicles, vans were the most popular (357 units), all other types can be considered single cases, sold in quantities of less than 10 vehicles. Here is their number: on-board awnings (8 pcs.), cargo-passenger ones (5 pcs.), on-board ones (6 pcs.), emergency repair ones (5 pcs.).
Renault Express became the leader of the new LCV segment in November. 88 such models with zero mileage were registered for the first time.
In second place was Renault Master (50 units), followed by Fiat Doblo (29 units) in third place, and Fiat Ducato (27 units) in fourth place.
Rounding out the top five is Peugeot Partner (21 units).
