What small commercial equipment did you buy in October? Top new and used models

Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed vehicle registration statistics in Ukraine in October and identified the 20 most popular models of small commercial vehicles in three segments: used import, domestic resale, and new car purchases.

LCV market dynamics

In October, Ukrainians purchased 5,000 light commercial vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons. This is 31.3% more than in the same period last year, but 5.1% less than in September 2023.

The majority of small commercial cars were usually purchased on the domestic market: 3.7 thousand (73.5%). 1,000 used LCVs (20%) were brought from abroad.

299 new imported LCVs were registered, another 28 registered light trucks were converted by Ukrainian enterprises from imported chassis or machine sets. Overall, new LCV sales accounted for 6.6% of the total number of small commercial vehicles purchased.

The most popular LCVs in the domestic market

The highest demand on the domestic market was observed for used vans (3 thousand units), flatbed (169 units), cargo-passenger vans (146 units), and side-mounted awnings (141 units).

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (589 units) has held the unchanging leadership in the domestic market for many years in a row. The chassis of this car is used for various superstructures, as well as being converted for various needs of small and medium-sized businesses, including being used as special equipment. Renault Master is in second place (329 units), and GAZ-3302 "Gazelle" (275 units) is in third place so far.the fourth is Ford Transit with 258 purchase and sale agreements.

Rounding out the top five is the Volkswagen Transporter (224 units).

The most popular used LCVs imported from abroad

From abroad, used vans (801 units), side-mounted awnings (55 units), refrigerated vans (49 units), hydraulic vans (29 units) and platforms (22 units) were most often brought from abroad.

The leader of imported used LCVs this time was the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (243 units), which displaced the previous monthʼs leader, the Renault Master (237 units), to the second place, and the Volkswagen Crafter (76 units), on the third place, currently unchanged.

Renault Kangoo and Renault Traffic also made it to the top five most popular models of small commercial vehicles in September, with the same result of 66 cars each.

The most popular new LCVs

Among the new small commercial vehicles, the most popular were vans (291 units), cargo-passenger vehicles (9 units), emergency repair vehicles (9 units), on-board awnings (3 units),and on-board (3 pcs.).

Renault Express became the leader of the new LCV segment in October (as well as in September). 54 such models were registered for the first time.

In second place was Renault Master (29 units), followed by Fiat Ducato (23 units) in third place, and Peugeot Partner (22 units) in fourth place.

Rounding out the top five is the Volkswagen Crafter (20 units).
