Sales of truck tractors decreased in July. What models did you choose?

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine during July and identified the top models in three segments of truck tractors: import of used vehicles, domestic resale and purchase of new ones.

Dynamics of the truck tractor market

In July, Ukrainians purchased 2,900 new and used truck tractors. This is 25.7% less than in the same period of last year 2022 and 14.7% more than in June 2023.

The share of domestic sales was more than half ( 50.4%, 1.4 thousand ) of all tractors purchased during the month. This is the highest rate since the start of the full-scale invasion.

1,500 used ones were brought from abroad, which accounted for 44.4%.

5.1% of truck tractors were purchased new, which in quantitative terms equals 148 units. Of them, 144 pieces (5%) were imported from abroad, 4 pieces (0.1%) were converted in Ukraine.

The most popular tractors on the domestic market

DAF XF remains the most popular tractor unit on the domestic market in July in Ukraine. 372 contracts for the sale of such models were concluded. Volvo FH took second place (160 units), and MAN TGX (153 units) took third place. Renault Magnum (143 units) and Renault Premium (124 units) also entered the top five.

The most popular used tractors brought from abroad

In July, as for many months in a row, used MAN TGXs (363 units) were most imported from abroad.

DAF XF is in second place (323 units), and Volvo FH is in third place (163 units). The fourth step was taken by Mercedes-Benz Actros (91 units), and Scania R-Series (88 units) rounds out the top five.

The most popular new tractors

Volvo was the most popular among truck tractor brands in July. 49 of them were registered during this period. (33.1% of the total number). It is being overtaken by Scania (44 units, 29.7%). DAF was on the third step (20 units, 13.5%).

Among the models, the Volvo FH remains the most popular (47 units). Scania R-Series (32 units) was located on the second step.

The third place was taken by DAF XF (18 units), and the fourth place by Mercedes-Benz Actros (17 units).

Rounding out the top five is the new Scania G-Series (11 units).
